GALATEA RESURRECTS' 2016 POETRY RECOMMENDATIONS

GALATEA RESURRECTS’ 2016 RECOMMENDATIONS
Begin With ...

Galatea Resurrects is pleased to offer a list of poetry recommendations! This list (of recommendations, not best-of) was developed by poet-critics who have reviewed for any of Galatea’s issues in the past ten years. To know Galatea is to know we are open to Poetry in all of its forms and variety. Because Galatea believes Poetry is eternal, recommendations were not limited to 2016 publications, though most focused on relatively recent releases.

Only one title was mentioned more than once from our diverse group of reviewers: HELLO, THE ROSES by Mei-mei Berssenbrugge (New Directions, 2013).

May this list move you to discover some of the mentioned titles. Books are listed in alphabetical order of the author’s or editor’s last names.

The prior post lists these books’ publishers; we thank them for all of their work and contributions.

(As Editor, I made my books ineligible for mention. Reviewers also were not allowed to cite their own books—if a mentioned book is by a poet who’s reviewed for Galatea, that book was cited by another reviewer.)
